Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Bumpi is an independent app built to help people make more informed food safety decisions during pregnancy. It is operated by Ayoub Oulad Ali, a solo developer based in Morocco (“we”, “us”, or “our”). You can reach us at hello@bumpi.app.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate Bumpi:

• Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account. Used to send launch updates and your access invite. Nothing else.
• Food queries — the text or images you submit when checking a food or ingredient. Processed to generate a safety verdict. Not linked to your identity.
• Device and usage data — basic diagnostic information (device type, OS version, crash logs) collected anonymously to improve the app. No personally identifiable information.

We do not collect location data, contacts, browsing history, or any other data not listed above.

3. How we use your data

• To send you your waitlist invite and launch updates (email only).
• To process your food safety queries and return a verdict.
• To identify and fix bugs or crashes in the app.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.

4. Third-party services

Bumpi uses a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Email delivery — to send waitlist and launch communications. Your email address is shared with our email provider solely for this purpose.
• Crash reporting — anonymous diagnostic data only. No personal data is shared.
• AI processing — food queries may be processed by an AI model to generate safety verdicts. Queries are not stored or used to train models.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.

5. Data retention

We keep your email address for as long as you are on the waitlist or have an active account. Food queries are processed in real time and are not stored beyond the session. Anonymous diagnostic data is retained for up to 90 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Unsubscribe from communications at any time via the link in any email we send.
• Request that we stop processing your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@bumpi.app. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

Bumpi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password if you create an account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify waitlist members by email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
